Building For The Future

Introduction

It is now more than 10 years since we, as a church, last got together to plan for our future direction.  Church Council felt that the time has come to do so again, and to that end, have invited Chris Hollies to come alongside us, and help us in this process.
This is a very exciting time for us as a church, as we look to the future, building on what we already have, and seeking God's direction as we seek to worship and serve Him on the Cregagh Road.

Be Part Of It

This is a very important time in the life of our church and we will be reflecting on what we believe God is calling us to do in regards to the church's mission.  We will be considering key practical areas of the church's life and ministry and the things that are already being done.  The course will help us consider God's mission for His Church and develop a plan to help the church increase its effectiveness in mission.  The course will be facilitated by Chris Hollies. 
 

In October, we will be taking part in the "Discovering your God-given SHAPE" course.  This is a superb opportunity for all ages to come together and to discover your God-given gifts and your unique SHAPE.  You will be encouraged!

The Bible says "God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well" (Romans 12v6)

Over 4 sessions together, the following content will be considered:
Introduction - only YOU can be you!
1. Your abilities really matter
2. It's good to be yourself
3. Matters of the heart
4. Your experience has purpose
5. Your God-given gifts make the difference
6. Getting in SHAPE
 - S = gift(s) that God has given you
 - H = what moves your heart, your passion
 - A = your God-given natural abilities
 - P = your personality
 - E = your experiences in life

At the end of the sessions we will all be in a better position to consider how and where we are best equipped to serve the purpose and vision of the church.

Please continue to pray for Chris Hollies and the Vision Team (Heather Moore, Harold Agnew, Barbara Reid, Audrey Smyth, Alison Agnew, Laura Salt, Michael Kane, John Duddy, Fred Leeson and Derek Clarke) over the weeks ahead as they continue to meet to discern how God may be leading and directing us as a church.  Please pray for wisdom and guidance as they begin to collate the information from the Building For The Future course and put together a Vision/Mission Plan for our church.
