Chemnitz Trip

From 18th-25th July, two of our young people will join with others from across Ireland as part of a DYCW team travelling to Chemnitz in eastern Germany to work with our mission partners, Barry & Gillian Sloan, and the three churches they serve.

Matthew Patterson and Jenny Moates are two of the team of 17 young people who will be undertaking lots of different activities, including cleaning a graveyard, running a children's sports day (alongside the local police), working in a kindergarten and creating a street mural.

They would really value your prayers, specifically:

  • For the work they are going to do
  • For the safety of the team
  • For the people in Chemnitz - that the team would show God's love through all that they do and say
  • That God would be glorified in all they do
  • That they would integrate well with the culture, food and language
  • That they will raise more than enough money to leave to the church for future work in the area
  • That they will have lots of energy and fun
  • That the weather will be good
  • That language will not be a barrier
  • That God will show them what He wants them to do to impact Chemnitz
  • For the things they will be doing - street cleaning, painting, gardening, sports days, kids' activities etc.
  • For their time together as a team
